AlBalad Jeddah

The historic core of the city of Jeddah.

Al-Balad, the UNESCO designated historic centre of the city of Jeddah, can literally be translated as “The Town.” Founded in the 7th century and historically served as the centre of the city. The urban regeneration project consists of restoring historic buildings, upgrading works for the public realm, and other social activations. 

PenguinCube has been tasked with developing a comprehensive wayfinding strategy and signage design at a masterplan level that will serve the area for at least the next 50 years.
