A wayfinding system that is handcrafted to the smallest of details.
The Royal Opera House in Muscat is designed to be the leading arts and culture organization in the Sultanate of Oman. It has been designed to serve as a global centre for cultural engagement and its design is a reflection of the fusion between traditional Oman and modern Oman.
The elaborate designs of the interior provided the basis to designing and planning a much-needed wayfinding system.
The patterns and motifs inspired the background of the signs and their materials, while at the same time posed challenges when it came to fixation and sign location.
Modular movable elements are integrated in the environment.
A pictogram family was created to reflect traditional Omani dress.
A holistic approach for front and back of house signage.
